A short chapter, yes, but a potent one, I think. Onto other news...
Recently, my wife had a conversation with me about the fact that I don't blog. Now, the reason that I don't blog is the same reason I don't have a Facecult page or use the Tweety...when everyone is shouting, no one gets heard (aside from the fact that Facecult is a massive time-sink that makes you consent to violation of privacy and Twitter is the sound-bitification of intelligent discourse.)
During this conversation, she threw a lot of rationale at me as to why I should have some kind of online journal. I won't go into her rationale, but since she is much smarter than I am, I had no choice but to agree with her.
Christo and Michelle will break up. The more I read through the whole novel, the more sure of this fact I am. "Doomed from the start," I think, is how they're described in earlier chapters. Twist, you wouldn't give us a set up like that and then shank us with a Brady Bunch punchline, would you? You're better than that, even if it hurts to watch.
I totaly agree with you on the facecult thing. But last year I started a blog just to promote a daily strip I'm trying to start. One to keep me motivated to stay on a schedule and two it a place for me to keep track of my ideas. If I don't write them down I forget them and if I put them on paper I'll probably lose it. On another note, I'm a newly wed and I found out very quickly sometimes it's just best to listen to the wife.

The End Approacheth
Going to go out on a limb, here, and speculate that Michelle will end up sleeping with Peter. The signs are there, and this could be the "something bad" that was foreshadowed way back in the beginning....
gah - I can't comment on your tumblr I don't know whether tumblr just doesn't do that.
But go to Brussels some day. There are ace little pubs and lots of nice beer and coffee shops that open till 1am and no hippies that I saw. I dunno about the music scene though but ifyou're over this side of the pond it's worth a visit.
Go to Chez Toon. It's an afterhours pub that is still used as a marionette theatre during the day and is one of the most awesome places in the world.
The thing about tumblr is that it's impossible to comment on tumblr entries unless you yourself also use tumblr (in which case you can 'reblog' and then comment).
If I were you, Mr Twist, I'd set up a blog at Wordpress (which I use) or Blogspot (which I never really got to grips with except that I prefer it to Tumblr. I had a tumblr for a while but just didn't like it - and for a blog like yours, where yo'ure going to expect to have quite a wide readership of people drawn in from this site, and who don't necessarily use or want to set up a tumblr, I'd say you're better off with something like WP which allows anyone to comment as long as they don't completely linkspam you (WP uses Akismet, which is very good at sifting through spam).
It's odd the reasons we keep someone or something, and even odder the reasons we let go at last. I think maybe what's going on with M & K is things between them are 'uncomfortable' but they won't let go until it reaches 'untenable'
