Andy's reaction is interesting. Sorta "well there you go the reason why you blew off all your closest friends just robbed you blind" sorta reaction.
He looks hurts.. And for translating that into this page is why your awesome Sir!
I think Andy's upset that somebody could do this to his best friend. It must be awkward for him, sure, but mostly I think he's just upset that somebody would do this to Patrick. He probably had hoped he was wrong about Alexander.
Its moments like this that make me think Gibson is so wrong in saying "none of my characters are there just to be hated." (paraphrasing). With this one act, any action Alexander has taken so far that might have been worthy of redemption in a different context are just gone. Like burning the letter, I can see how he would think that might have been in Patricks benefit and did it to protect him or something. But now everything is just so cut, dry, and clear. Asshole. Hated asshole.
Well. If you want to look at it a certain way, Alex's actions, while obviously utterly dickish, have actually gone a long way towards cancelling out the damage he's done. His misdeeds now have brought back the friends he helped Patrick alienate. In a sense, stealing Patrick's shit and running away could be the best possible thing for Alex to have done for him at this point.
...not that I'm suggesting that's what Alex was thinking. Dick.
