Wow, Andy's kind of turning into a vindictive prick. I mean, there's a line between being angry and just being downright hateful, and I don't know where that line is, but I'm pretty sure he crossed it.
I can understand Andy. Sure they all had Patrick turn his back on them but with Andy it was even more personal. Not only did his best friend turn his back on him he completely shot down the relationship with Mel. So yeah, I can get why Andy is acting like he is.
Wow I figured Andy would say something once he got there but damn... I hope this is leading up to more than Andy seizing the moment and being more of an ass than he needs be.... I hope Patrick's face in that last panel is leading up to surprise laughter or something like that... I know my glass is so half full this morning *sighs*
Andy saying he screwed up his life so bad it screwed up everyone elses? Dude I know we are trying to be sympathetic, but fuck Andy. I understand why he would be pissed but why does he think he has some sort of sense of entitlement to these things? Patrick would have been cut off eventually, shit cant stay like it is FOREVER. That's a pipe dream. Andy isnt being realistic at all. Hes just lashing out at people.
Jesusfuck, Andy! If you wanted the Funhouse to keep going, then YOU pay the rent for it! I get that he's pissed and all, because Pat DID screw up, but what more is he expecting the guy to do, seriously?
Ease up, tough guy
I get that Andy has more of a personal stake in this whole thing, but a strong silence would get the point across just as effectively, IMHO. Also, Mr. Twist, spelling mistake in third-to-last panel. :P
Andy has no right to get upset about the funhouse. Everything else I can understand to a certain extent, but the funhouse was something Patrick provided for everyone, and it was a privilege, not an entitlement. It's not like everyone was pitching in equally, and now they have to give it up because just Patrick can't cover it.
Up until now, I've been able to put up with Andy being a bit of a dick - honestly Patrick kinda deserved it. But now, he's just pushed it too far and is starting to sound just as whiny and douche-y as he always accused Patrick of being.
Damn, new Andy is the old Patrick. I have to say, it's actually kind of disturbing to see Smilin' Andy Walenski like this. Like his face doesn't even look right, especially the 4th panel. He looks sour. The implications bother me.
...man, I want them to be friends again so badly I keep forgetting they're not. Even though we've known since the beginning that the group's going to fall apart, I keep wanting them to have just a little more time. And I'm still holding out hoping that Patrick and Andy will manage to work things out for a little while at least, but I know it's really just wishful thinking...
I side with Andy. It's more than a personal betrayal, it's like a brother turning on him. I can understand why he's so mad and has to let Pat know how pissed he really is. I think Andy feels like Pat doesn't really know the depth of the hurt he has caused. He's more sorry he got himself hurt than how badly he hurt everyone else...and how bad Pat betrayed Andy.
I Want to Be Mad at Andy
But I would be pissed off, too. Whatever he's doing, Patrick was waaay worse. Of course, I feel bad for everybody else... they took the BS from Patrick but now they have to take it from Andy too. xD
I see a lot of people are siding against andy here. normally it would be on par if patrick really didn't do anything.
but here's the thing. patrick's been a whiney self-centered momma's boy for ages, and this is just one of many harsh lessons he needs to learn to really get his head straight. His actions have consequences and this is just one of many that will happen.
If I were in andy's position I'd just tell both peter and mulligan quite bluntly: stand down.
