I was one of the people who commented once about Christo's english. But what I meant back then was that studying a language, is not the same that growing up in a place where everyone speaks it. You learn the vocabulary, the rules, the pronunciation, but things like "you are in the doghouse" or "we race the bottle" are phrases that are neither in dictionaries, nor used in other languages. I mean, my first language is spanish too, and most of the times I understand what that phrases means, but because of the context. (Besides this comment, I really like that Christo's not a typical spanihs character, and that he doesn't say "amigo" and stuff like that. I always found every character here very realistic. What I said about christo was an opinion from someone who feels conected to him because some stuff we have in common. Not that he "has to speak bad", but i pictured myself in the comic, and I though that in my case, I would probably misuse some words). Thanks anyway for the answer to my indirect question!
And Christo's comment o everything asked are precisely why he's one of my favorite characters in the Story. He's funny, sarcastic, honest (even if the truth hurts a little) and just a bit cynical and that makes him great in my book...
I've been speaking English since I was 7 why wouldn't I speak it well? Why wouldn't you Monsieur Christo... why indeed ^_^
