@Gibson Twist: that's the truth of it...
I see Lauren's point, and I also see Sam's. And yeah, I'm sure this has been covered in posts on previous pages - but they're both being more selfish than considerate. Sam is being possessive (not that much, though), and Lauren doesn't seem to care that her friendship with Rick is making Sam feel more uncomfortable than he's admitting.
@H0lyhandgrenade: No kiddin'. I seem to recall a certain Chris Rock bit about "dicks in glass cases", but I digress.
The sad part is that Christo fed Lauren's "annoyed vibe" by being particularly vocal about Rick, even when Sam wasn't around, so of course Sam's gonna get some fallout of that when he mentions him, which is unfortunate, because he's being pretty level-headed so far.
I've heard Lauren's perception of things only once in real life. This girl I knew was going out with one of my close friends and had another male friend who was unattached, yet not putting moves on her or being cold toward us like Rick is being here. They would do things as friends, and she once said she valued his male point of view on things that was not "tainted" by any sort of intimate relationship with her, as sometimes we cushion our opinions based on whom we're speaking with.
This is what I imagine is going on here. Furthermore, as Lauren said, this group of friends went through some serious ups and downs, so I guess it must be nice to talk to someone about things you like without any emotional background. Had this person been a girl, this whole mess would've been avoided. It would also have been avoided if Rick were more civil to her friends.
Same makes a good point, but I totally get Lauren. I mean, even though Sam gives her a lot to talk about, he's still a part of the circle, and sometimes, it's nice to have a friend outside of it all to talk to- and about drama within the circle- about. (I have two circles of friends, both of which are kind of crazy, and I totally get why some things work better with some of them than others to talk about).
I really hope they work this out. And judging from the shots from the future/present (if this would be considered the past), I think they do c:
