Just... Fuck Man
Now what... that's where poor Peter is. Is is lost in the land of now what do I do. I'd say he doesn't exactly feel comfortable around Little Brother any more but at the end of the day it was his decision to give in to curiosity and read a few pages... do I mention it, do I sit on it, do I say something to Wiley... just a whole shit ton of "now what?"
Welcome to the next level, Peter. Now, find a happy place. You're gonna need it.
It's gonna be tough times ahead for ol' Slugger. The man wears his heart on his sleeve, so keeping that info on the down-low is going to take some supreme effort on his part, should he choose that course of action. His tour has taken a sharp turn into Realville, and by the look of him, he just caught a flat tire.
If I were him, my first instinct would be to engage Wiley in more conversation, so that he doesn't feel like an accessory to the band. That said, this might only serve to make him feel further alienated from the rest of the boys... Gah! There's no perfect course here. Shit's gonna go down.
Theres no way Peter keeps this quiet. Hes either gonna talk to Wiley, or the gang, or maybe Michelle. But this does not end here. If he didnt this would be a pointless development. Unless either Wiley figures out someone saw it, or someone else finds it and Peter has to be all "Oh I knew the whole time derp-a-hurp." But still, I dont think Peter has it in him to keep quiet. Hes a very honest dude. Not really prone to secrets.
I read back some -- mostly the more recent "tour" aspect of the story, and noticed a couple of places recently where Wiley's crush on Peter is referenced or hinted at on the road:
1.) When they first get on the road, Peter brings up a "what do you think of Kara?" topic. While most of the guys just laugh and/or make fun of him, Wiley acts very strangely. His "you could do better" comment really got me thinking. To me, it seemed like Wiley was thinking; "you could do better -- ME". Then the whole embarrassment on Wiley's part when one of the guys asks, "who would that be?" and he stumbles over his words and lowers his head.
2.) There was the time the gang was standing around contemplating snooping in Wiley's journal (Peter had been so steadfast against snooping, so it's weird that he was the one who ended up seeing it after all). One of the gang guessed something along the lines of a "200 page love letter for Peter".
3.) Then not far from there, there is the whole "Wiley watching Peter pee" thing. It was weird.
I have a feeling that this goes beyond Wiley alone. I've seen the suicide theory, and I find it intriguing and quite possible. However, I don't believe Wiley is simply going to commit suicide. Something happens. Something else HAS to happen. I believe that there is more to this, and that it involves more people. The fact that Peter was asking "Where is" regarding THREE people total, makes me wonder if Wiley snaps, taking some folks out with him. Peter's maudlin attitude in the Prologue could hint to him being PART of what is yet to come -- perhaps a catalyst, being Wiley's love interest and all, for the emotions/events to come. The Willey-loves-Peter stuff is pretty well known and prevalent in the pages so far; it must serve SOME purpose in the future of the story. Peter just seemed so much more affected than the other characters in the prologue.
I am so excited (and somewhat disturbed, lol) to see how this story goes. This whole thing is amazing. Blowing-my-mind amazing. I read many stories/webcomics/graphic novels, and I don't often comment on them. That said, this one is REALLY good and I totally can't help myself. I can't help but try to get into the dialogue and theorizing. :):)
Im very sick and also tired from a looong day from work, but I couldnt let this pass without saying anything.. Its easy to forget the dark undertones.. and not only undertones, of the story, and getting caught up on the band playing, and the silly bickering, etc.. at least always gets me by surprise whenever a major thing comes around.. *like Wiley's diary might come to be* so fucking, Bravo yet again, for always throwing a wrench on the machine when least expected Mr. Twist.
As far for TPR kickstarter, I want to help, badly but the economic situation is rather broke at the moment, but i love ya guys so much im willing to save the $ I use for pot, and use it to pledge =]
@Kiki: I see where you're going with this, but I just saw that page. One of the people Peter mentioned was Christo, which he called at the end of book 2 I think it was.
That being said I do see bad things going down. I would not be surprised to see Wiley committing suicide or getting locked up for trying to harm, in one way or another, one of the members of One Inch Punch. Which would also solve the riddle of the ominous cover art of book four, as Michelle probably saw him as a sibling more than anyone else. Speaking of whom, Wiley could also have been saying that Peter could be with Michelle.
