Can I just reiterate how amazing and powerful it is to see a trans character in media? LGBT representation as a whole is pretty rare, and trans representation is almost nonexistent. Especially non-white representation. So thank you.
As a trans guy I'm reeeally curious how he thought he knew. You spend a few years in the perpetual insecurity of not knowing how you're being read (I went to a wedding once where the bride's family read me as female and the groom's as male), but once the breasts are gone and secondary sex characteristics kick in, you become pretty invisible on the queer spectrum unless you work at it.
