Ok, look at it this way. His dad (who apparently came from more humble origins) has given his sone the best opportunities he possibly could. He wants hsi son to do well inlife. Tossing out 15k per year (a lot of money) plus living expenses is a sizeeable investment. Of course strings should come attached, especially if his son is more interested in a meaningless rock band. Point of view folks..lets face it, how many college rock bands actually go anywhere? 1%? .01%? .001%?
Now sadly his dad has forgotten how it was when he was younger, and how to talk to someone at that age. That planning for the future is one thing (and not unreasonable to expect0 but youth must live a little, and enjoy the moment of being young.
But there's nothing really bad the dad is saying here. He's worried his son is wasting opportunities, chances that may not come again. He's not perfect in expressing these things to his son either of course, but nobody is perfect, especially parents.
Last 3 panels
I love how you did the words in the last panels. It shows how the words seem to blend together in your head and your mind is somewhere else when a parent goes off on you like that. I've heard enough of those monologues from my mom to tell exactly what was going on with them haha. Nice work. I love your stuff. Keep up the good work!
