To answer a question from the last page, while I wouldn't say PoY is autobiographical, it is inspired by and drawn from events in real life. That said, this isn't one of them...not really. I did date a dancer for a while back then, but I was never one for going to strip joints and nothing from this chapter really happened to anyone I knew.
Yeah, it's real surprising how strongly he reacts, particularly as the first part of his speech does insult quite a lot of girls.
(By the way, does the phrase "nudie bar" mean more than "a bar where you see nude girls"? I personally don't see anything disparaging in it, at least towards the nude girls. It may be a criticism at the place itself, but at the girls? If someone cares to clarify stuff, it would be nice.)
Oh, and of course his remark about those girls "trying to put themselves through college" sounds like foreshadowing ...
