Christo's sister's name is Marina, for anyone who's still wondering.

In addition to looking at a site redesign, the idea has been thrown around about a Pictures of You forum of some sort. With all the discussion that's been going on in the comments lately, it's been suggested that something more interactive might not be a bad idea, but I wasn't sure the audience had grown yet to a size that would make it make sense. I put another question to you all, then, is how many readers would be interested in a Pictures of You forum?

Also, when you get a chance (by which I mean right now) you should head over and check out Tara Tallan's comic Galaxion. She's a fellow Canadian and it's not Shuster Award nominated for nothing!

Hell yes
A forum would be sweet! With all the twists and turns the story's been taking lately, I'd love to get on a forum and rant about it. Also, had no idea YOU were a Canadian. Should've known though- seems like all the good webcomics are written by you guys!

Marina's a greek name ;)

Jodie (Guest), April 26th, 2010, 6:53 am

she has a point, it's sure as hell not gonna be easy

a pictures of you forum i think is quite needed for most of the commenters here although i personally am quite content merely commenting here and there like a good little passerby

yayness (Guest), April 26th, 2010, 6:56 am

ack, I'm now really worried for melanie. still love alexander.

A forum? Lordie I say enough stupid things here I think. I am not a forum kind of person, but I'm sure loads of other people here would love it. :)

Vicki (Guest), April 26th, 2010, 7:56 am

Also Not
I am also not a forum person. Would it be possible to keep comments and have a forum, the both?

And, yes, siblings will always be siblings. Fighting with each other while Melanie is trying to get herself together to do scary.

Marina, huh?

He's adorable when he smiles! :D

darkamnios, April 26th, 2010, 10:35 am

dun dun dunnnn
I particularly like Patrick's reactions and how he isnt really pulling an "I told you so" yet she acts like he is..
And for a forum.. As someone mentioned before... If we can keep the comments too then It would be sweet, cause personally i liked how (of most web comic i read) is one of the only ones that readers can rant a little (or a lot) right underneath, vs. having to open another tab, link etc.

xkrazydog, April 26th, 2010, 10:42 am

You really should watch what you say patrick. Such a tone can make her even more likely to go back to her abusive relationship.

Strife (Guest), April 26th, 2010, 11:08 am

Follow her anyways! If you're her big brother and are looking out for her you will follow her!

LucyHamilton (Guest), April 26th, 2010, 11:58 am

I'm not a forum type either. I've read this comic since it started and this (I believe) is also my first comment, and it's likely to be my last. I love your comic, incidentally. I'm just not a forum type, as are a lot of people, looking at these comments, I think.

That said it was a lot easier than expected to comment here - I expected to have to leave my email address and my website and a captcha and everything...! (guess we'll see what happens on the next screen. If I do have to leave those details I'm not sure I'll bother...).

Thanks, anyway, man. I'm not a gushing complimentary type but I'm really do love this comic.

LeyLegbreaker (Guest), April 26th, 2010, 12:23 pm

I wouldn't mind a small forum, perhaps where we can discuss the webcomic, but Forums tend to get spammed a lot so if, I would make a small one with a high concentration on your webcomics, and as less forum-spam-threads as possible (except perhaps for the exchange of other good webcomics)

MoRT (Guest), April 26th, 2010, 1:28 pm

i hate forums
too much comitment/work w/ registering and all that.

i like this arangement were the comic is on the top and everyone just says what he/she/it thinks.

by the way if that was my lil sister id long kicked that idiots ass.

good move on her site

Gibson Twist, April 26th, 2010, 4:18 pm

To be clear, I wouldn't necessarily replace the comments with a forum, perhaps in addition to them.

dgriff13, April 26th, 2010, 4:24 pm

title here.
ah yes... had this very conversation multiple times with a little sister of mine too... if she would just have as much common sense as ME..... *winks*

To each his own, but seeing someone repeat the same mistakes gets frustrating to console, time after time.

miraidebbie, April 26th, 2010, 4:34 pm

I'm not much of a forums person, but if some people want to have more off topic conversations that'd be a good place to organize it. I prefer the comments on each strip as they are. Also, would running a forum be more work for you? I'd rather you spend your "Pictures of You" time making more wonderful comics :)

eddygazilion, April 26th, 2010, 4:41 pm

Wasn't there already a forum before, back between books one and two that a few people used, but then it fell into disuse?

I'd imagine that your following is much bigger now (I don't remember the actual numbers), but perhaps a forum could take off in a small way.

Gibson Twist, April 26th, 2010, 5:04 pm

The forum I had before was a woefully ill-conceived stunt on the part of someone who was too new to webcomics and internet culture at large to realize how unused it would be. The numbers are bigger now, by a factor of 10 or more. I'm not sure another one at this point would have much of a different fate, but it's been suggested so I thought I'd float the idea. If it happened, I wouldn't be the one running it, I'd just pop in and talk when I had time, post news and other stuff, maybe run a writing workshop or something.

everlasting-insanity, April 26th, 2010, 5:45 pm

I would join a forum if you made it! I love Pictures of You, I think it's a fantastic idea!

BloodyGem, April 27th, 2010, 11:59 am

Doesn't always think when he opens his mouth. He can be really smug I just kinda noticed this.

tezzle, April 27th, 2010, 6:35 pm

A forum just starting out? I'll join post-haste and be a legend among newbies years later!

LongLiveRa, April 27th, 2010, 6:45 pm

I'd jump on board with a forum (like I did with the first one) hopefully this time I'd stick around, give it a go. Worst comes to worst people don't use it.
