End of The Road

I've been putting off this bit of news, but with less than 10 pages left in Book One, I guess it's time. With the end of the first book, Pictures of You will no longer be hosted on SmackJeeves. It wasn't an easy decision, nor is it one with which I haven't had doubts, but due to a disagreement of policy with the administration of the site, I cannot host here in good conscience. I've finished Book One in order to give some closure to the fans who've been very kind and without whose interest and support, I'm not sure I would've pushed myself to complete the first book. I apologize for the disappointment, it has not been overlooked.

This is not the end of Pictures of You, however, the series will still be hosted at another venue. Anyone who wants to stay up to date on Pictures of You can find any and all news at http://subutopia.proboards81.com and learn where and when the story will continue.

I want to thank everyone for reading, for commenting and lending your eyes to something very close to me. In the sincerest manner I can muster, I am in your debt.

Nooooooooo ;__;
That sucks. What kind of disagreement??
If you're not going to put the comic itself up somewhere else on the web, are you ever going to get the whole thing published? Would definitely love to buy a copy.

This is very sad to hear indeed.
Having called Smackjeeves my second internet home for almost 2 years now I know exactly how rare it is for the site to host a comic of such calibre and popularity.
It's a great loss to the community and a great loss to me, because to be honest, I only half keep up with outside comics these days. But I doubt it's a great loss for you Gibson. As I said, this is genuinely high-standard stuff, and wherever you may take it and for whatever reasons, I am sure it will be received well. As stated so soon already, it would be marvelous to see it properly in print one day, and I for one am a guarenteed buyer.

We're losing a real smash hit of a comic here, and it may be many months before the site can find anything worthy of filling the void. Best of luck, keep dropping in though.

Aww, this is sad. I love this comic. It's seriously my favorite comic on the whole site. If you ever publish it, I'm definitely going to buy a copy. I'm also going to keep up to date on where this is going to be hosted because I really want to see where this goes.

It's sad you're going , Gibby, but I'll always follow PoY, no matter where it's hosted! :D

Farewell and good luck That's... highly unfortunate. It's a shame to be losing such an influential member of the SJ community, but as long as PoY keeps going, I'll keep reading, wherever it's found.

Best of luck elsewhere, and keep telling your story. It's rare to see such a wonderful storyteller in webcomics.

Anything I could say at this point really would be too little too late. Sorry you decided to go and that I couldn't get the ban system up and running sooner.

LongLiveRa, August 10th, 2007, 12:36 am
