Book Three Begins!

It seems appropriate, as Book Three begins, to say something about it, and as it turns out I have something to say. A while back, I asked you guys to support Pictures of You by voting to push me into the top 20 comics on TWC and that if we made it, I would do the first chapter of Book Three in colour. Well, it didn't happen, but considering the way TWC works, it wasn't going to without some sort of titty drawing luring you there. While I'm alright with a little whoring, I'm not alright walking the street without underwear. What did happen, though, was that we made it into the Top 20 on WebcomicZ (a much better site), so what could I do but honour the promise?

Well, then you guys came through for me and pushed me on into the Top 10, and then mind-blowingly into the Top 5! What could be a reasonable response to that? Some of you have already guessed. Considering how well I've been taking to the colouring and how good the pages have looked, I've decided to continue the comic in colour from now on. Yep, Pictures of You is now in colour. And, as if that weren't enough, to keep the look of the comic more uniform I'm going back and colouring the first two books as well, posting the coloured pages a chapter at a time. The first few are posted now, go take a look!

Now the slightly bad news. For those of you not already doing the math, that's over 300 pages of back-colouring on top of my current workload which just increased. Something has to give, I'm sure the more astute of you have realized. Well, as difficult as it is, that something is the update schedule. Don't panic, I'm not going weekly or anything drastic, I've decided to drop down to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday update. What it means is one less page every two weeks or 26 fewer a year, and hopefully that isn't significant enough to send anyone into apoplectic fits.

I'm going to miss the black and white format, I'll be honest, but I'm really excited by the new look. Thanks to everyone who voted (and continues to do) to push Pictures of You a little further into the public eye. You know who you are and you rock.

Wooooh! I always thought the comic worked beautifully in black and white, but the color is a bit of a nice extra touch! Loving it so far. :D

Question - If you're making it all in color now, I'm assuming the print version of book 2 would be color now, right? Are you going to make a color edition of book 1 as well, or just leave it as b&w? Just wondering :)

Well, the print version is still a question, but I am working on it. I'll let everyone know as soon as I do.

Man, actually... I'm kind of depressed that the black and white is going away. Doing the new stuff in color I can deal with, but all my old Pictures Of You comics, to be stark black and white no more? I'm.... really sad. I have adored this comic in all its monochromatic glory. Oh well. I guess I'll live.

Is there any way you might be talked into at least preserving an archive of the black and white version that we can view?

outch Hi, colour came as a shock for me: black and white is/was part of what makes the art standing out. I love the way you play(ed) with contrasts. I'm sorry, but color seems so flat in comparison.
I guess I'l have to adapt.

Hey! Recently converted fan here. Your comic is AWESOME. Where do you get the ideas? I've been meaning to make a comic myself. You got any tips? :D
