Gearing up to winding down.

It's been a while since I posted any news, and I have something I think is newsworthy. Today, I did something I haven't done since 2005, and that was start writing a new book of Pictures of You. I cracked open the files wherein lay the notes for the as yet unnamed Book Four and started making changes and refining the plot points.

Those intrepid devotees among you might remember that in the very first draft, the series began in what is now the fourth book, and I even produced 24 pages of that version. Those pages are now lost to time and ex-girlfriends, but it's weird to realize I'm almost ready to draw it again.

There's a pretty extensive revision coming, but from what I see, though, Book Four won't be a particularly long book, which is a relief for me after the two-and-a-half year gauntlet that has been Bishop Street. Bishop will shake out to more than 380 pages. That's better than 50 pages more than I thought it'd be. I mean, shit.

What that means is that Bishop Street will wrap up around the end of November/early December. For anyone who's curious, we will be having another round of Snapshots, but I'll wait to announce who's working with me this time. Should be fun, though!

I'm sure I'll have something really soppy to say when Bishop Street finally wraps, but it has been a roller coaster, both on and off the page.

just keep on keepin' on, you publish what I view as one of the best written web comics around. the characters have depth and speak to me of my past, and you balance funny and serious amazingly! thank you for all your hard work and I will be reading until there is (sadly) no more to read.

I had a moment where I was worried about what you meant by "winding down." Damnit, man, be careful with those words! They are weapons, swords and stones!
